In addition to VESTAKEEP® implant-grade virginpolyetheretherketone (PEEK) which is widely accepted by domestic and overseascustomers and Resomer®, an implant-grade degradable polymer that can be absorbable in the human body, Evonik keeps innovating and pioneering to provide new materials for new needs and processes in the field of orthopedic implants. The newly-launched VESTAKEEP® Fusion PEEK significantly improves the osteoconductivity of PEEK implants, ensuring PEEK with both biosafety and bioactivity. VESTAKEEP® i4 3DF, the world’s first implant-grade PEEK filament developed by Evonik for additive manufacturing (3D printing), has been used for the additive manufacturing of PEEK implants for medical fields such as craniomaxillofacial and spinal applications viafused deposition modeling (FDM) technology, satisfying clinical and product functionality needs such as personalization, patient-fit and porous structure. VESTAKEEP® PEEK has become a versatile material for medical implants due to its excellent biocompatibility, modulus of elasticity equivalent to human body, X-ray transparency and combination of rigidity with flexibility.
